WE’LL ALWAYS BE PALS
A7SLE Films has acquired book and script rights to Tom McManus’s memoir “We’ll Always Be Pals’: The last words of a dying father and a true hero!” The film will be produced by Peter, Rob DeFranco, Kim Murray and Tom McManus. The story chronicles the relationship between McManus and his father as the elder helps his son through life’s journey by detailing his past war experiences. Details will be forthcoming as they are released.
Adam Robitel will be scripting the new horror film “Cropsey” for A7SLE films. “The picture takes a fresh look at the mythology of the Cropsey Maniac, the boogeyman of campfire lore who has terrorized the minds of youngsters for decades. ” Further details will posted as they become available.
AFTER THE RED RAIN
Peter has co-penned a YA novel with his A7SLE partner, Rob DeFranco, and YA author Barry Lyga. The book is titled ‘After the Red Rain’ and is being published by Little, Brown with an anticipated release date of August 2015. Publisher’s Weekly has described the storyline as “set in a future world of environmental collapse and mass poverty, where a mysterious boy named Rose discovers he possesses inhuman powers that can irrevocably change the lives of everyone on the planet.”
Peter has a starring role in NBC’s upcoming new drama “Odyssey”. The series follows a female soldier, a corporate lawyer and a political activist as their lives unexpectedly collide after an international conspiracy. Peter portrays the disillusioned corporate lawyer, Peter Drucker, who is pulled into the center of this conspiracy. Filming for the series began Fall 2014 and the show’s premiere is scheduled for Easter Sunday, 2015.
Peter tweeted to his fans on June 16, 2013 “Working with the talented Virginia Madsen and Neve Cambell today on a film called “Walter”. Great script. Very excited.” Peter will have a role as a firefighter in the movie. According to IMDB.com, the story is about “A ticket-taker at the local cinema believes he is the son of God. He has agreed to decide the eternal fate of everyone he comes in to contact with.” The cast also includes William H. Macy, Virginia Madsen, Milo Ventimiglia & Neve Campbell with Andrew J. West in the title role. The film was screened at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival. A release date of Spring 2015 is scheduled.
THE DEVIL’S ROOMING HOUSE
A7SLE Films has acquired the rights to “The Devil’s Rooming House”. Written by M. William Phelps, the story is a historical true crime. As described on Phelps’ website “A silent, simmering killer terrorized New England in 1911…a woman who was both a Black Widow and an Angel of Death.” Peter posted on his Twitter, @peterfacinelli, that he is “excited about this new project. :)” We will update you with information as the project progresses.
NATHAN HALE: THE LIFE AND DEATH OF AMERICA’S FIRST SPY
A7SLE Films has acquired the rights to “Nathan Hale: The Life and Death of America’s First Spy”. Written by M. William Phelps who “separates historical fact from long-standing myth to reveal the life of Nathan Hale, a young man who deserves to be remembered as an original American Patriot” (www.mwilliamphelps.com) As Peter stated in an article in Variety.com, “I am excited to bring story of Nathan Hale to life, a man who sacrificed everything for what he believed in.” Details will be forthcoming as they are released.
THE LAST WORD
Peter’s production company, A7SLE Films, is affiliated with the movie “The Last Word”. The movie was filmed in Louisianna and stars Mike Doyle (Jersey Boys), Erin Cummings and Sean Patrick Flanery. Peter states that he is “excited to be teaming up with Film District to produce “THE LAST WORD”. A release date is pending.
Peter is partnering with Fox to bring “Street Soldier” to the station’s lineup as an event series. Peter will have the starring role and will serve as an executive producer. He and A7SLE Films Rob DeFranco have had the rights to the story for several years and as Rob tells Celebuzz “Peter and I are excited to be working with such a talented group of people like Michael De Luca, Ted Mann and Larry Golin, to bring this to life at Fox.” The story revolves around Eddie MacKenzie who served as the enforcer for New England crime boss, Whitey Bulger.
