Nurse Jackie Coming Back for Season 4!
Showtime Picks Up ‘Nurse Jackie’ For Fourth Season

SHOWTIME has picked up a fourth season of its dark comedy Nurse Jackie. The series, which has received both critical and audience acclaim, stars Emmy® and Golden Globe® winner Edie Falco, who just this past season received an Emmy® in the “Comedy” category for her lead role. Nurse Jackie also stars Peter Facinelli, Paul Schulze, Merritt Wever, Eve Best, Anna Deveare Smith, Stephen Wallem and Dominic Fumusa. The series is created, written and executive produced by Liz Brixius and Linda Wallem. Richie Jackson also serves as an executive producer. SHOWTIME subscribers continue to embrace the series, with season three of NURSE JACKIE currently averaging 2.8 million weekly viewers (as a point of comparison CALIFORNICATION S4 averaged 2.4 million weekly viewers). The series averages 762,000 viewers on Monday nights, with a marked increase of 71% of subscribers tuning On Demand, DVR and replays.
THE BORGIAS has become the newest hit on SHOWTIME’s growing roster of acclaimed series finishing its season with an average of 3.3 million weekly viewers. THE BORGIAS outperformed the highest rated season of THE TUDORS by 20% (Season 4, 2.7 million viewers). As a point of comparison, SHOWTIME’s most recent hit freshman series averaged as follows: SHAMELESS, 3.8 million and The Big C, 3.5 million. For its first season finale, THE BORGIAS delivered 810,000 viewers at 10 p.m. and 1.12 million viewers for the night. The series has already been picked up for a second season — 10 new episodes will go into production this summer to air in 2012.
